Federal authorities arrest four people in Florida and Illinois who they say have financed and supported terrorism. Attorney General John Ashcroft links the four to Palestinian Islamic Jihad, and says University of South Florida professor Sami Amin Al-Arian is the U.S. leader of a group blamed for suicide bombings in the Middle East.
