NPR's Barbara Bradley-Hagerty reports on the strong support that President Bush has from Evangelical churches for a pre-emptive war against Iraq. Many conservative Christians believe that such a war is justified theologically, but their churches don't make public pronouncement in favor of the Bush administration's position on an Iraq war. Other churches publicly oppose war against Iraq as unjustifiable and illegal. They include the Roman Catholic Church, the Episcopal Church, the United Methodists, and the National Council of Churches.
