NPR's Melissa Block talks with NPR's Debbie Elliott in Jackson, Miss., about the trial this week of Ernest Avants, a former Ku Klux Klansman accused of murdering Ben Chester White in 1966. White was a sharecropper. Federal prosecutors allege the killing was an attempt to lure Martin Luther King Jr. to the area so he could be assassinated.
