Skydiving pick-up trucks often get stuck in trees. Bummer.

Alt-country singer and polyester appreciator Don DiLego has banjos, basses, accordions, a Wurlitzer, and a piano strewn across his New York home studio. These instruments, in "various states of disrepair," include a charmingly out-of-tune piano and give a heartwarming character to his latest album, Photographs of 1971.

Recorded in both Portland and NYC, Photographs was inspired by DiLego stumbling upon some old, stained and tattered family photographs from the 70s. He says revisiting these memories "gave way to the album's theme of celebrating our life's misadventures and failures."

The celestial protagonists of "Ghosts" may not have been captured in a photograph, but DiLego reflects on their former humanity.
