Matt Nathanson in Concert

Matt Nathanson

Matt Nathanson.

July 13, 2007In a career that now spans five albums, Matt Nathanson has built a loyal cult following with memorable roots-pop songs and a witty live presence. Hear Nathanson perform a concert from WXPN and World Cafe Live in Philadelphia.

Since 1993, the singer, guitarist and songwriter has performed live shows that benefit from their minimalist set-up, not to mention between-song patter that often ventures into stand-up comedy. As word of mouth spread, Nathanson released his major-label debut, Beneath These Fireworks, in 2003. The disc helped his songs land spots on several TV shows, including Road Rules, Smallville and Dawson's Creek. But it's taken him a while to pick up where he left off: His first studio album in four years, Some Mad Hope, arrives next month.
