November 2, 2009 - Amy Ray and Emily Saliers first visited Mountain Stage as Indigo Girls back in 1991. From their beginnings in Georgia to their major-label success to their newest album (Poseidon and the Bitter Bug), Ray and Saliers have remained true to their artistic vision and their devoted fan base.

For its sixth appearance on Mountain Stage, the duo is joined by Julie Wolf on keyboards and accordion, as well as banjo luminary Alison Brown, whose own band can be heard later this week. Saliers and Ray invite another guest, Jill Hennessy, to join them on their closing numbers, the hit "Closer to Fine" and the fan favorite "Galileo." Hennessy, best known for her acting, has released an album of her own material and lists Indigo Girls as a major influence.
