Space Hotel Says It's On Track To Open in 2012
A company behind plans to open the first hotel in space says it is on target to accept its first paying guests in 2012. Critics question the investment and time frame for the multi-billion dollar project. The Barcelona-based architects of The Galactic Suite Space Resort say it will cost $4.4 million for a three-night stay at the hotel. Included in the price is an eight-week training course on a tropical island.

Good morning. I'm Renee Montagne. We've been hearing about space tourism. Now, a company based in Barcelona is offering an opening date: 2012. A three-night stay at the Galactic Suites Space Resort features countless trips around the world, special Velcro suits, and 15 sunrises a day. Start putting aside money and vacation days now. The trip costs nearly $4.5 million per guest, though it does include an eight-week training course on a tropical island.
