NPR's Greg Allen visits Valley Center, Kansas, home town of Private 1st Class Patrick Miller, the 23-year-old soldier who's being held as a prisoner of war in Iraq. Many of Valley Center's 5,000 residents know Private Miller personally. His family and friends first heard about his captivity on the news and then saw his image as it had been broadcast on Iraqi television.
