Maybe it's the Scottish accent, but Colin Hay doesn't want for charm. With roots in Scotland, Hay first found fame in the '80s, as the guy from Men at Work who came "from the land Down Under." But he's since relocated to the U.S., where he's appeared in several movies and on TV's Scrubs.

These days, Hay makes his home in California, which provides fodder for his new record, American Sunshine. Unlike so many stars whose worldwide fame has subsided, Hay continues to make compelling music. In this highly enjoyable session, Hay seems perfectly happy to play his big hits alongside the new material, and he's got plenty to say about the unpredictable career that brought him to this point.
