Sea Wolf is Alex Brown Church, born in the small town of Columbia, Calif. His strong debut, Leaves in the River, earned favorable reviews, laying the groundwork for this fall's follow-up. With its lush melodies and vivid lyricism, White Water, White Bloom is a subtle gem.

The album leans a little more toward the rock side of folk-rock, but maintains the expansive feel of Leaves in the River. In this interview, Church discusses how Sea Wolf has evolved in the past few years, from just having friends play on some tracks to becoming a functioning band.

"I feel like it's certainly evolved into something that is more than just myself," he says.
