Iraqi Civilians Killed at U.S. Military Checkpoint

At least seven Iraqi civilians die as U.S. soldiers fire on a vehicle approaching a military checkpoint in southern Iraq. U.S. Central Command says the driver ignored signals to stop, including warning shots. Soldiers wary of a suicide attack then fired into the van. The dead include women and children. NPR's Jennifer Ludden reports.
