The minimum wage rises Tuesday to $5.85, the first of three increases set for the next two years — by July of 2009, the minimum wage will be $7.25. The increase is the first in 10 years at the federal level, but some state and local governments are creating their own minimum wage requirements. John Dimsdale of Marketplace talks with Alex Chadwick.
