Americans Tell Job Horror Stories in Contest

And while we're on the subject, we can mention that the bad boss contest is back. Today's last word in business comes from the union outreach group Working America. And this week the group launched its annual contest in which it collects on-the-job horror stories and then posts them on a Web site.

There you can review the bad boss stories, like the employee who says the boss was a tornado of stress, or another employee whose excuse of missing work for a funeral was rejected because the note from the funeral home was not on the proper letterhead. Another employee writes: thank goodness I quit this job.

There will be two grand-prize winners this year. And the prize for each is a vacation from that bad boss.
