Hunter Says His Labrador Shot Him
STEVE INSKEEP, host:
Good morning. I'm Steve Inskeep, with the story of a hunter injured by his own gun.
He turned up at a hospital in central California, with a gunshot wound in his back. When doctors asked what happened, the man blamed the injury on his dog. The hunter says he needed to retrieve some duck decoys, so he put his shotgun on the ground. That's when his Labrador stepped on it, causing the gun to fire. Police have yet to identify the hunter - or for that matter, his dog. It's MORNING EDITION.
