Dispute Stalls Creation of Palestinian Cabinet

Efforts to create a reformist Palestinian Cabinet hit a roadblock after Prime Minister-designate Mahmoud Abbas and Yasser Arafat fail to reach a compromise on its composition. Failure to name a cabinet by an April 23 deadline could torpedo U.S. plans to release a "road map" to full Palestinian statehood within three years. Hear NPR's Linda Gradstein.
