San Francisco Giants outfielder Eugenio Velez made his season debut with a jersey that misspelled San Francisco. His jersey read: San Francicso.

RENEE MONTAGNE, host:

Good morning. I'm Renee Montagne.

Baseball season started without spell check. San Francisco Giant outfielder Eugenio Velez made his season debut with a jersey that misspelled the city. An S and C were reversed. It became San Francicso. Velez himself did not notice until after the game when a reporter called to ask about it. Last year, a similar orthographic malfunction struck two Washington Nationals, who wore Washington Natinals jersey.
