Powell Trip Signals Stronger U.S. Role in Mideast

Secretary of State Collin Powell visits the Middle East to promote support for a new Israeli-Palestinian peace initiative. Observers say Powell's trip will allow the United States to demonstrate a renewed commitment to deal with issues affecting the whole region and not just Iraq. NPR's Michele Kelemen reports.
