New Cancer Drug May Have Diverse Uses

The Food and Drug Administration approves Velcade, a new cancer-fighting drug that's shown success in treating multiple myeloma. Researchers say the versatile drug also holds promise in treating a host of other diseases, ranging from cystic fibrosis to Alzheimer's. NPR's Richard Knox reports.
