U.S. Families Struggle with China's Moratorium on Adoptions

NPR's Brian Naylor reports on the early fallout from the news that China has suspended international adoptions because of SARS. One U.S. family waiting to adopt their daughter says the news is tearing their hearts out. About 5,000 families in the U.S. adopted children -- mostly girls -- from China last year.
