Florida Court Overturns $145-Billion Verdict for Smokers

A Florida court discards a $145-billion verdict against the nation's five biggest cigarette makers. The initial record judgment had come in the first class-action lawsuit by smokers to reach trial. The appeals court called the verdict excessive and unconstitutional. Hear NPR's Debbie Elliott.
