RENEE MONTAGNE, host:

Good morning. I'm Renee Montagne.

At a San Diego beach on Saturday, dogs were doing what they live to do: catching things. In the fifth annual Loews Coronado Bay Surf Dog Competition, the dogs were catching waves. Ranging from Jack Russells to bulldogs and some in sunglasses, they were judged on surfing ability and how well they rocked their board shorts. The surfing hounds raised money for an appropriate cause: the San Diego Police Canine unit.
