Eight years after NATO intervened to halt ethnic cleansing of Albanians in the province of Kosovo, Kosovars are pressing for independence and this weekend, envoys of the U.S., European Union and Russia are discussing the issue. But Russia objects to what has been described as a "supervised independence" for the province.

Matthew Kaminsky, editorial page editor for the Wall Street Journal Europe, details the politics of the situation in a conversation with Scott Simon.
