Keane's last record, 2008's Perfect Symmetry, rounded out a trio of acclaimed releases, even as it revealed a departure from the band's characteristically piano-intensive pop-rock sound. For the first time, Keane experimented with instruments like synthesizers and electric guitars. For the band's latest EP, Night Train, Keane continues in that vein; in a session from World Cafe, the group's members discuss what inspired them to branch out.

This segment originally ran June 4, 2010.
