A Bruce Springsteen-worshipping rock 'n' roll band from New Jersey, The Gaslight Anthem has inherited the Boss' ability to take well-worn subject matter — fading youth, nights on the town, the open road — and turn it into something big, bold, insistently catchy and surprisingly thought-provoking. The group is about to follow its 2008 album The '59 Sound (and the magnificent single of the same name) with American Slang, a gripping and infectious collection of songs about growing up and growing older. Hear The Gaslight Anthem perform live from the Bonnaroo Music Festival in Manchester, Tenn.
