N.Y. Philanthropist Brooke Astor Dies at 105
New York socialite Brooke Astor died Monday at the age of 105.
For decades, she was known as the city's unofficial first lady. Astor spent her inherited millions to help the poor help themselves.
In her final years, Astor was at the center of a public family fight over her care and fortune.
