Bush Wants to Shift Housing Program to States

A new proposal from the Bush administration would shift a federal aid program known as Section 8 — which provides rent vouchers to more than two million lower-income households — to the states. Opponents say states are not prepared to handle the program, and some funding might be cut. NPR's Brian Naylor reports.
