Envoy: Sudan Peace Deal at Hand

Kenyan Gen. Lazarus Sumbeiywo, a special envoy, cites progress on a peace deal between Sudan's Islamic government and the rebel Sudan People's Liberation Army (SPLA). The plan envisions a power-sharing arrangement for several years leading to a vote on unity or independence. More than 2 million people have died since civil war began in 1983. NPR's Michele Kelemen reports.
