And here's an update on a story we're following today. An oil and gas platform about 100 miles off the coast of Louisiana exploded in flames this morning.

The Coast Guard reports that all 13 people on the rig were rescued. The shallow-water platform is owned by Mariner Energy Incorporated. It's not clear if any oil has leaked into the Gulf of Mexico. The company initially reported a mile-long sheen, but the Coast Guard has been unable to confirm that.

Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal said officials from the company told him there had been seven active wells on the platform, and they were shut down after the fire started.

It's not known what caused the explosion, but company officials say the fire is now out. As for the possibility of a spill, Jindal said the Coast Guard is prepared to use dispersants if an underwater leak develops.
