NPR's Steve Inskeep speaks with recent high school graduate Paul Williams. Williams wrote an essay, "My Sanctuary," about the dangers in his rough neighborhood — and the safety he felt when he was in his suburban high school. The essay won this year's National Gold, one of the prizes of the Scholastic Art and Writing Awards.
