Suspected Immigrant-Smuggling Ringleader Arrested

Authorities in Guatemala capture and deport to Houston the suspected leader of the immigrant smuggling operation that ended in the deaths of 19 people crammed in a tractor-trailer. U.S. Attorney Michael Shelby says 25-year-old Karla Patricia Chavez, a U.S. resident born in Honduras, was "the central cog" of an organization that moved illegal immigrants up through Mexico into Texas.
