Russian President Vladimir Putin's prime minister survived a parliamentary move to oust him Wednesday, but the debate gave Communists and liberal opponents a chance to score political points before elections later this year. No confidence measure attracted more votes then expected. The vote is seen as a demarcation of the political lines ahead of parliamentary elections, and the presidential election next March. NPR's Lawrence Sheets reports.
