Weapons of Mass Destruction

Host Joe Palca talks with Dana Priest of The Washington Post about the congressional hearings this past week on U.S. intelligence regarding Iraq's weapons of mass destruction. Priest says the hearings are more than routine oversight by the House and Senate intelligence committees. At the same time, because of popular support for the President Bush's policy on Iraq, there is limited political pressure on the Democrats to aggressively investigate whether the administration exaggerated the Iraqi weapons threat.
