Gallery: Discoveries In The Amazon

South America's Amazon region — which contains the world's biggest rainforest and river basin — is teeming with life, and much of it is still a mystery. More than 1,200 new plant and vertebrate species were discovered there in the last ten years, according to a report from the WWF. Here's a sampling of those discoveries.
