Fed Considers Cutting Interest Rates

Federal Reserve policy makers are expected to cut short-term interest rates at least a quarter of a percentage point in an effort to stimulate consumer spending and business investments. Economists say a rate cut would also be aimed at warding off the threat of deflation. Hear NPR's Jim Zarroli.
