NPR's Tom Gjelten reports on the Senate confirmation hearing of Army Lt. Gen. John Abizaid. He has been nominated to replace Gen. Tommy Franks as head of U.S. Central Command. Abizaid is a Lebanese-American and a Middle East expert. He explained to the Senate Armed Services Committee why things are not going as well as hoped in Iraq.
