Host Steve Inskeep reflects on the departure of White House Press Secretary Ari Fleischer in an essay recalling Fleischer's role in the 2000 presidential campaign and his attacks on Al Gore's credibility. On his last day on the job this past week, Fleischer found himself defending President Bush's credibility.
