RENEE MONTAGNE, host:

Good morning. I'm Renee Montagne.

The odds of an amateur golfer hitting a hole-in-one, according to Golf Digest, are one in 12,750. If that golfer is in the rain it's a bit more difficult. Now imagine that golfer in the rain blind. For Sheila Drummond of Pennsylvania, none of that held her back on Sunday when she hit a hole-in-one. She is believed to be the first totally blind woman to do so. I wasn't nervous, she said, I just don't like playing in the rain.

It's MORNING EDITION.
