A Portland, Ore., software engineer pleads guilty to trying to help the Taliban and agrees to testify against other suspects. Under a deal approved by Attorney General John Ashcroft, Maher "Mike" Hawash, one of the so-called "Portland Seven" will serve at least seven years in federal prison.
