President Bush reached for historical precedents in his defense of the war in Iraq during a speech to the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He likened the war in Iraq, a fight against extremism, to past conflicts in Japan, Korea and Vietnam – saying at the core of them all is ideology. Jeffrey Record, professor of strategy at the U.S. Air Force's Air War College, speaks with John Ydstie.
