Panel Calls for Longer Hubble Mission
An independent panel of scientists appointed by NASA recommends that the space agency extend the life of the Hubble Space Telescope. NASA had originally planned to retire Hubble around 2010, after 30 years of service. Extending Hubble's life will require at least two shuttle missions to service the telescope.
