A violent week in the Middle East has altered a hopeful mood that had begun to build in the region during seven weeks of relative calm. But a cease-fire lies in ruins after Tuesday's deadly blast aboard a bus filled with Orthodox Jews and Thursday's assassination of a key Hamas figure. NPR's Julie McCarthy reports.
