Off the Grid

Companies that build systems for on-site power generation are seeing a fresh opportunity in the fallout from the massive Northeast blackout. These start-up firms make systems that supplement power from the grid or provide emergency supplies in the event of an outage. NPR's Laura Sydell reports.
