A week after Secretary of State Colin Powell's public appeal to Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat for help in combating terrorism, Arafat asks militant groups to stop attacks on Israelis. Some analysts say the Bush administration, which has in the past tried to sideline Arafat, is now acknowledging his influence. Hear NPR's Michele Kelemen.
