The trouble started for a 78-year-old woman after she kicked her son out of her house. Gary Lamar allegedly started extorting cash from his mother. He repeatedly threatened to kidnap her cat. His mother had to pay more than $20,000 to keep him away. In the end, it was cheaper to call police. A judge released Lamar on bail, but ordered him to stay away from his mother. The cat, by the way, is fine.
