Ashcroft Defends Patriot Act Powers

Attorney General John Ashcroft said Monday that critics of the Justice Department's new anti-terrorism powers were being hysterical. He especially pointed to a librarians' association and civil liberties groups who question the government's right to search library records. NPR's Jackie Northam reports.
