Car Sales Booming in China

Passenger car sales in China are accelerating rapidly as the country's growing middle class embraces car culture. Car purchases jumped 60 percent in 2002 and 82 percent in the first six months of 2003. But the booming auto business has led to a rise in pollution and gridlock. Hear NPR's Rob Gifford.
