Despite an overall surge in hirings, the Labor Department reports that September marked the 37th month in which the U.S. manufacturing sector lost jobs. One Connecticut factory owner has formed MAD in USA, an alliance of workers and employers trying to draw attention to the crisis facing small and mid-size manufacturers. Hear NPR's Jim Zarroli.
