During the war, he set up live interviews and brought in packages to supply content to CNN's 4 main networks. He also helped to coordinate pool coverage out of Qatar.
Taking a bit of a break later that year, Chappell became Editor-in-Chief of the Trans-Atlantic Journal, a business and lifestyle journal geared for expatriate Europeans working and living in the United States.
Before that, Chappell's other jobs included producing Web pages and editing digital video for CNNSI.com, editing and producing news and feature stories at CNN.com, and manning the reference desk at CNN's central library in Atlanta.
Bill's entry into national journalism came after years of writing about movies, restaurants and music for alternative weeklies.
