Consumers Warned Against Debt Counselors

With Americans taking on record levels of debt, many consumers turn to credit counseling agencies in an attempt to stay on top of their accounts. Now, the Internal Revenue Service and the Federal Trade Commission are warning that some credit counseling agencies can leave consumers worse off than they were before. NPR's Snigdha Prakash reports.
