Gene Therapy Update

Gene therapy remains an area of intense exploration. French researchers release a study offering an explanation for why patients that were cured by gene therapy for one disease went on to develop leukemia. Using molecular methods, the scientists showed that the new gene triggered a cancer-causing gene located nearby on the same chromosome to activate.
